Barking and Dagenham Council and East Thames are working in partnership to transform part of the eastern side of the Gascoigne Estate in Barking.

The new neighbourhood is called Weavers Quarter and will bring 1,575 new homes, two schools, a community centre and a new public square to Barking town centre.

The first phase of this new development, which will see 421 new homes and part of the new public square built, is underway on site and will become available in 2018. 200 homes will be available through affordable rent and 221 through shared ownership.

Community sits at the heart of everything that East Thames and Barking and Dagenham Council do. Weavers Quarter will give back to its local community through a community grant scheme, employment support and opportunities, site visits for local schools and much more.
